#PrEPSaves Justin
“One of the key cornerstones of ending the HIV epidemic around the country is increasing PrEP access.”
Justin is an advocate and former PrEP user. As an advocate, he has facilitated many conversations with young Black gay and bisexual men throughout the Deep South around PrEP access, many of whom view PrEP as inaccessible due to provider and cost barriers.
“Some of the things I heard from the interviews and focus groups were that most of them had heard about PrEP, but what I heard from the young men is that if they had a friend who had a bad experience [trying to access PrEP], that really hampered their willingness and desire to get on PrEP. PrEP should be available to people with no cost barriers.”
